The Tobacco Free Coalition of Pinellas

Improving the health of our community by working to reduce tobacco use and exposure to toxic secondhand smoke.

SWAT stands for Students Working Against Tobacco.  Pinellas county schools house ten clubs and they are growing!  SWAT students attend city council meetings to educate lawmakers on the dangers of tobacco use and secondhand smoke.  This has empowered city council, county commissioners, and state lawmakers to pass resolutions and consider legislative bills that impact youth and families’ exposure to secondhand smoke and tobacco.

The Tobacco Free Pinellas Coalition partners with SWAT to support their efforts by sponsoring the Tallahassee Trip for Kick Butts Day and other community outreach activities.

Mission:  SWAT is Florida’s statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against and de-glamorize Big Tobacco.  We are a united movement of empowered youth working towards a tobacco free future
